CMETB serves 6,104 post-primary students and 10,500 learners across further education and training and other programmes, employing around 1,478 staff.

Aprilanna was previously been nominated to sit on numerous educational committees including the board of management at Beech Hill School and Monaghan Institute.  

This academic year, almost 8,785 students are enrolled on to FET courses run by the Cavan-Monaghan Education and Training Board.

The "College of the Future" will be on the existing site of the current Cavan college.

In 2020, the then Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris, announced funding of €40m for the new campus.

The Green Devolved Capital Grant will allow Cavan and Monaghan ETB to make essential improvements to their owned buildings.

CMETB blames the situation on inadequate funding from the national Further Education and Training budget, which, was not increased this year.
