Co Cavan has seen the fourth largest increase in rents for new tenancies over the past year.
The latest Rent Index Report from the Residential Tenancies Board reveals new rents in Co Cavan were 21% higher in quarter one of this year, compared to the same time last year.
The average standardised rent in Cavan is €905 - it was €748 during the same quarter last year.

The increase in Co Monaghan isn't as stark, but the county has seen the ninth largest year-on-year increases, at 12.9%.
The average rent for new tenancies in Monaghan during quarter one of this year was €812, compared to €719 the year previous.
Both local counties have seen annual increase above the national average, which stands at 9.2%.
