Co Monaghan no longer has the Local Electoral Area with the highest 14-day incidence rate of covid-19.

However, all six LEAs in the Northern Sound region have incidence rates above the national 14-day average.

Carrickmacross-Castleblayney has the third-highest incidence rate in the country, at 1,078 per 100,000 people.

The Monaghan LEA is the fifth highest nationwide, with an incidence rate of 1,040.

Both of these areas have incidence rates almost three times the national average, which stands at 390.

The rate in Ballybay-Clones is 649.

In Co Cavan, Bailieborough-Cootehill is registering an incidence rate of 508 per 100,000 population, and Cavan-Belturbet has a rate of 428.

The Ballyjamesduff LEA has the lowest incidence rate in the region, at 407.
