Capital projects over a certain amount require public tendering and can be Europe wide.

Councillor Colm Carthy also issued a call for funding at a recent MD meeting.

Colm Carthy says it's an issue in Carrickmacross, particularly in the Donaghmoyne area.

Cllr PJ O'Hanlon noted that Tuath has been before the MD twice, and that the "issues are not with them, but with the contractor".

Cllr PJ O'Hanlon said the people who decided that these branches should become cashless "think they are untouchable".

Cllr Colm Carthy has called on AIB to re-consider, saying this decision treats customers "with contempt".

AIB also noted that people can withdraw money from the Carrickmacross Post Office.
