Condolence book to open for U20 football captain

His funeral will take place on Wednesday.

A book of condolence is to open after the death of Monaghan U20 captain Brendan Óg Duffy.

The 19 year old was killed in a crash in Clontibret on Friday night.

Tributes have been paid from across the country for the well-known footballer, who had captained the team to a win over Donegal earlier that evening.

His GAA Club Monaghan Harps is opening a book of condolence for people to leave messages for his family.

It will be open at the club grounds at Gavan Duffy Park this evening from 7-10pm and tomorrow from 6-9pm.

Ogie's funeral mass will take place on Wednesday.
