A planned change of use from a mushroom packing facility into a dog breeding establishment in Cavan has been turned down by Cavan County Council.
Designs for the planned reconfiguration of a premises in Loughduff, had previously been submitted in May with a view to housing up to 13 dogs.
Given its rural location, officials from Wynne Gormley Gilsenan stressed there would be "no negative" impact on the surrounding area in terms of noise pollution.
And, in an attempt to uphold its compliance with Dog Breeding Establishment Guidelines, proposals were included to carry out internal insulation works to the existing building.
That said, Cavan County Council has since refused the application.
