The Mohamed family have publicly thanked the local community for the support they have received at this difficult time.

16-year-old Dlava Mohamed died alongside her best friend 17-year-old Kiea McCann after the car they were travelling in left the road at Legnakelly and hit a tree.

The Largy College students were both laid to rest earlier today following a fatal road traffic collision on Monday evening.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

The crash happened shortly before 7 o'clock yesterday evening.

Gardai and emergency services are currently at the scene.

The collision occurred shortly before 2.30am.

Anyone who was in the area at the time are asked to contact Gardaí.
