A Ukrainian woman who has lived in Cavan for almost 20 years says the Croi Conathe Grant allowed her achieve her dream.
Vita Yuricha says the funds allowed her renovate an old cottage near Ballyconnell and make it her forever home.
She says the grant allowed her to give herself and her family the security of having their very own haven.
She said prior to this she had been renting an apartment and now she is so happy and excited to have a place of her very own.
Vita and her husband have two children and did the majority of all the renovation works on the property. She said while the paperwork may have been daunting at the start, with the help from friends and Cavan County Council it was a lot easier than she had envisaged.
She paid tribute to the government and the local authority for the scheme, which she says gave her everything she had dreamed for and without it, she would still be renting.
Meanwhile, Vita had this advice for anyone that was considering applying for the Croi Conaithe Grant.
