Almost €474,000 (£420,000) in LEADER funding has been awarded to the Cuilcagh Mountain Experience Project.
Both Cavan County Council and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council are responsible for the cross border cooperation project and will each contribute additional funding of twenty five percent to fund works in their respective jurisdiction.
This project aims to deliver significant improvements including upgrades to the existing visitor amenity at Killykeeghan Nature Reserve, additional car parking spaces and upgrades of the Cuilcagh Lowlands Walking Trail.
The funding will also facilitate the development of a new brand identity and a new website will be delivered to support the promotion and marketing of the Geopark.
Work has commenced across all project elements with an expected completion date for March 2021.
