Cyclists and motorists asked to show consideration for each other following hit and run death in Dublin

Cyclists and motorists in Cavan and Monaghan are being asked to show consideration for each other. Marc Andrews, the PRO of Emyvale Cycling Club said

Cyclists and motorists in Cavan and Monaghan are being asked to show consideration for each other.

Marc Andrews, the PRO of Emyvale Cycling Club said cyclists must keep themselves safe by being visible on the road, while also being mindful of the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

He said one of the few positives of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the increase in the numbers of people taking up cycling and walking, which has led to increased traffic on local roads.

Earlier this week a Deliveroo cyclist was killed in a hit and run in Dublin, which has sparked a debate on a need for increased infrastructure to make the roads safer.
