Deputy Brendan Smith raised the matter in the Dáil this week.

Of the 227 Gardaí that have came out of Templemore this year so far 165 of them have been deployed to Dublin according to the local deputy.

TD's accepted the bill which also includes an advertising ban of vaping products around schools and on public transport, as well as a strict new licensing system for retailers selling vapes.

The local TD said this case raises very serious questions for the Garda, the Department of Justice, the Courts Service and the Director of Public Prosecutions.

According to Mr Herrick, a series of ineffective and unsuccessful inquiries have taken place over the years in relation to this case.

The Monaghan mother believes that something must be done as soon as possible to rectify this situation.
