Children in Deis schools in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are set to receive a special gift package of new books by leading Irish authors to celebrate Culture Night.
It's part of an Arts Council Initiative to ensure as many people as possible can experience Culture Night this Friday, September 18th.
The Arts Council has partnered with Children's Books Ireland to ensure that the joy of reading can be spread across the country.
In the Shannonside region, Scoil Naisiunta an Leana Mór in County Longford, Diffreen National School in Manorhamilton, and Tibohine National School in Castlerea will benefit from the initiative.
Meanwhile, Deravoy National School in Emyvale and Fairgreen National School in Belturbet will benefit from the Northern Sound region.
Arts Council Director Maureen Kennelly says the scheme highlights the Council's investment in broadening and diversifying audiences and participation in Culture Night.
