Local gardaí are using the incidents to remind motorists that driving while intoxicated risks your life and the lives of other road-users.

Their vehicles were also taken off the road.

In one instance, a driver took avoidance action but was intercepted and failed a roadside drugs test.

All three drivers now face Court proceedings.

The driver tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.

Cavan-Monaghan Garda Division say substances, such as alcohol, could still be in people's system the next day.

Ten drivers were arrested on suspicion of drink driving and one arrest was made for drug driving.
