Today’s figures represent a drop of 17,500 from early May when the number receiving the PUP was at its peak.

Local Minister Heather Humphreys, who's Minister for Social Protection, says she wants "to stress that there can be no room for complacency".

She says “much more needs to be done. That’s why the Government will set out a suite of measures aimed at getting more people back to work in  the July Jobs Stimulus this week.”
