Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit recently conducted checkpoints in the Kingscourt area over the festive period. As a result of the operation, a car was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated.
On arrest further tests were carried at Bailieboro Garda Station revealing that the driver was over the legal limit. According to local Gardaí, charges were preferred and a court appearance is to follow. Gardaí in Cavan are appealing to motorists to never drink and drive.
