Over €19 million has been paid to local companies under the RESTART schemes.

The grant programmes were introduced as business supports during the pandemic and is geared towards helping businesses forced to close under restrictions or those who have had to carry out adaptations.

2,060 payments were made in Cavan, with another 2,863 in Monaghan.

Businesses could apply under the RESTART and RESTART PLUS schemes and grants of between €4,000 and €25,000 were available.

Over €9.7 million was paid in Cavan between May and October last year, while those in Monaghan received over €9.2 million.
