€192,000 announced for local heritage buildings

A substantial amount of money has been allocated for buildings that have heritage status in Cavan and Monaghan. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, announced a new funding allocation of €192,000.

Minister Humphreys received confirmation today from her Ministerial colleague, Minister Malcom Noonan, that 37 buildings with special status will be supported with substantial investment. The works include the likes of repairs to roofs, the mitigation of dampness, the protection of historic windows and other conservation works.

Projects in Monaghan received €96,000 as follows:

  • St Sillian’s Church, Templetate Tyholland: €12,255
  • The Squealing Pig, 16 The Diamond, Monaghan: €7,317
  • Tydavnet Parish Church, Ballinode: €3,717
  • 25 Main Street Glaslough: €12,255
  • Railway Wall, Station House, Glaslough: €7,966
  • St Joseph’s Church, Corlatt, Knockatallon: €12,255
  • Freame Mount Demesne: €2,500
