As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of controlled drugs, a coordinated intelligence-led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Louth Cavan Monaghan Crime Hub, and the Revenue Customs Service in Castleblayney County Monaghan today.
During this operation approximately 9.7 kilograms of herbal cannabis, valued at an estimated €194,800, was seized (pending analysis).
A male in his 30s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in County Monaghan under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
