Christmas came early this year for the community in Mullagh. That's according to Cllr Shane P O'Reilly who told Northern Sound that Mullagh Community Park was the proud recipient of €225,000 as part of the recent funding allocation under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme.
Cllr O'Reilly is also the Chairman of Mullagh Tourism & Community Development Association and he says the funding is about to make the dreams of everyone in Mullagh come true.
He pointed out how appreciative everyone is to Minister Heather Humphreys for allocating the funding in the first instance. Cllr O'Reilly added there is much to do now in Mullagh to build on the great facilities that are already in place.
"Our neighbours in Virgina, Ballinagh, and Cootehill got a whack of money too. You know what, talk to anybody involved in those community groups and they will tell you about the work that goes into all of this.
"When the funding is announced, my advice to groups is this; apply - do the work and get the applications in," he said.
