Minister Darragh O'Brien has announced today €900,000 additional funding for road repairs in Co Monaghan.
The funds have been allocated for repairs to local roads in Monaghan following Storm Chandra earlier this year.
The local authority had submitted a request for extra money and Senator Robbie Gallagher says he is delighted the funding has been forthcoming.
The Monaghan senator says roads in Monaghan were particularly worst hit from the flooding during Storm Chandra.
Senator Gallagher says this funding will mean the local authority will not have to take the money from elsewhere to foot the bill.
The local senator said he will continue to lobby the Government for increased funding for the local and regional road network in counties Cavan and Monaghan.
