Eir has been granted permission for the installation of an 18 meter high mast in Virginia.
The monopole structure, carrying antennas, dishes, and ground-based equipment cabinets, will be constructed at Matthews Funeral Home, in the Virginia Business Park on the Bailieborough Road.
12 submissions were received and one of the several petitions garnered over 170 signatures.
Eir say the works will improve telecommunication and broadband services in the region and the planners report said other locations had been considered but were later discounted.
Cavan County Council granted permission for the works, subject to ten conditions, and said the works will not "injure the amenities in the area, give rise to a traffic hazard, or be prejudicial to public health".
