Eir is seeking planning permission to erect an 18 metre mobile mast in County Monaghan.
The telecommunications support structure, together with antennas and dished, would be constructed at a site on the Railway Road, Connabury, Castleblayney.
In its planning application, Eir says it "has a requirement to significantly improve its 4G service provision from its existing telecommunications exchange on Railway Road".

It added that the "existing rooftop installation is too low to provide adequate coverage to Castleblayney".
The telecommunications company says "substantive improvement can be achieved only through investment in the form of a new infrastructure".
