Eir seeks to erect 15 metre telecommunications mast in Inniskeen

Eir is seeking planning permission to erect a 15 metre telecommunications mast at the Eir Exchange in Inniskeen, Co Monaghan.

The works would see Eir replace two, 12 metre timber poles with a pole that can accommodate "more modern technologies like 4G and 5G."

The application adds that there is a "clear deficiency in basic 4G coverage in Inniskeen and the surrounding areas" and that "failure to grant permission would have an enduring negative effect" on the area.

A decision on the plans is due in mid-September.
