Cavan County Council ruled that it wouldn't be granting permission because it would have an adverse impact on the local area.

Eircom has appealed the decision that saw it refused permission to build a mast in Belturbet.

The company was seeking to replace a 10.5 metre high pole, with a 21 metre high monopole communications structure at the Eir Exchange in the west Cavan town.

In September, Cavan County Council ruled that it wouldn't be granting permission because it would have an adverse impact on the local area and be against sustainable planning of the area.
