Contracts have been signed at the Watersports Club in Virginia for the expansion of Ramor Marina.
John Wilson, Commodore of the Club, told Northern Sound it is a plan that has been in the making for a number of years and one that is finally coming to fruition.
He said works will begin in January that will see 20 new berths installed at the amenity.
Mr Wilson says it's a significant development for the club and for the wider Co Cavan community.
He added a lot of work has been carried out in the area since the Club was established in 2013.
"In the last two years , we have more than 10 people on a waiting list," Mr Wilson continued.
"We knew the demand was there but we didn't have the funding.
"Two years ago we applied for Leader Funding and that was approved earlier this year.
"That enabled us to move forward with the project."
