Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to the incident to come forward.

A lorry driver who died in an accident in Co Monaghan on Monday has been named as Evaldas Starkauskas. The 45-year-old father had been living near Darkley, in Shercock for a number of years. The Lithuania native had been an oil truck driver with Roe Oils Ltd which is also based in Shercock.

The crash occurred shortly before 4pm on Monday on the R188 between Cootehill and Rockcorry. The road reopened late last night following the fatal collision. Mr Starkauskas was the driver of one of the two lorries involved, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R188 in between Cootehill and Rockcorry between 3:45pm and 4:15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
