Four men have appeared in court charged in connection with ATM thefts last year.

The alleged offences took place at locations across Cavan, Monaghan and Meath.

26 year old Ciaran Duffy, 29 year old Gerard Duffy and 34 year old Stephen Duffy, all with addresses in Castleblayney Co. Monaghan and 38 year old Niall Finnegan, with an address in Cullyhanna, Co. Armagh are accused of a number of offences.

Brothers Ciaran and Gerard Duffy are charged with the theft of an AIB bank machine in Castleblayney on the 3rd of April 2019 and the attempted theft of an ATM from Main Street Virgina, Co. Cavan on August the 14th 2019.

They face further charges relating to possession of stolen cash, moving cash intended to assist a criminal gang and criminal damage.

Their older brother Stephen Duffy and friend Niall Finnegan face two charges each, for possession of stolen cash at a shed in Moynalty Co. Meath, and moving cash intended to assist a criminal gang.

All four have been remanded in custody, to appear again next Monday.
