The Freedom of Dublin has been bestowed on Barack Obama.
The former US President formally accepted the honour at an event in the city yesterday.
At a ceremony held for security reasons in the Shelbourne Hotel he signed the roll of honour. In 2017, Dublin City Council voted to grant Mr Obama the Freedom of Dublin.

He decided to accept it while in Ireland for an special event that is taking place tonight. Lord Mayor of Dublin and Co Cavan native Ray McAdam says it was honour to bestow the title on Mr Obama.
