The funeral will take place today of local woman Jenny Drew who died following a collision with a car on Saturday afternoon. Mrs Drew who was aged in her 70s will arrive at St Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan for Funeral Mass at 11am, with cremation after at Lakeland's Crematorium, Cavan.
The incident involving a car and a bicycle took place at Tullyard close to Rossmore Golf Club at 1.20pm. The local woman who has been described as a "kind" and "beautiful lady" had been involved in 'Meals and Wheel's in Monaghan Town for a number of years and was an avid cyclist.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage, and who were travelling on Cootehill Road between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, to make this footage available to Gardaí.
The late Jenny Drew will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Matt, her daughter Karen, son Barry, son in law Anthony, her sister Mary and extended family and friends.
