Funeral to take place of father killed in Cavan crash

The funeral service for a motorcyclist who died in an accident in Co Cavan on will take place later this morning. 48-year-old Gary Murphy from Ballinagh and   formerly of St Martin's Estate, Cavan, died following a road traffic collision on the N55 Cavan to Ballinagh Road at Corlurgan shortly after 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr Murphy has been described locally as a "true gentleman" who "would go out of his way to help anybody." The funeral mass of the late Gary Murphy will take place this morning at 11am in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan. With cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan.

Gary will deeply missed by his beloved children, Sorcha, Oisin, Meadhbh, Donnacha and their mother Lisa. His cherished parents Denis and Kitty, sisters Jenny, Noeleen and Siobhan, brothers Declan and Sean, brothers in law, sisters in law, all his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.
