Gardai say they're "aware" of IRA graffiti on the back of road signs in Cavan.

Graffiti saying "Continuity IRA" or "CIRA" appeared on road signs in Cavan over the past number of months, most recently on the N3 between Butlersbridge and Cavan town.

A Garda Spokesperson says enquiries are ongoing.

Cavan County Council says the matter "remains under investigation".

In September, the local authority said it was aware of the graffiti in the Castle Saunderson area, but hadn't received any complaints about it.
