A health professor's calling for the government to develop a clearer plan on how to get Ireland completely free of Covid-19.

There's been a low number of cases of the virus across the country recently.

Just 14 cases and three deaths were confirmed yesterday.

Locally, Cavan saw one of its cases denotified after further examination by the HPSC yesterday and now has 859 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

While Monaghan had one confirmed case yesterday, with its total now standing at 536.

But DCU health professor Anthony Staines is concerned the rate isn't going down to zero.
