Former Minister Heather Humphreys has said she will make a decision on whether to make a bid for the presidential election in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Northern Sound FM, the former social protection and rural affairs minister said that she will decide in May if she will contest the election.
To get a nomination for the presidency, candidates have to get the backing of 20 Oireachtas members or four local authorities.
The former Fine Gael Minister says while she is enjoying her time since exiting politics, she hasn’t ruled out a bid for the Aras. Heather Humphreys said she wouldn't rule out the prospect of running to become the next president of Ireland.
