Hopes trial of pedestrianisation in Cavan town will benefit businesses

The trial began last weekend.

It's hoped the trial pedestrianisation of part of Cavan town will attract people itno the town and allow them enjoy what's on offer.

Cavan County Council is running a pilot programme, which saw stretches from Main Street's junction with Thomas Ashe Street as far as the junction with Town Hall Street and from the top of Bridge Street to the bottom of the Fairgreen Hill.

They will close from 7pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday and from 3pm to 9pm on Sunday.

The trial was successful on the weekend just past and further events are planned for the upcoming bank holiday weekend.
