HSE called on to 'urgently review' supports offered to schools following incidents of death by suicide

Councillor Aiden Fitzpatrick says the motion follows consultation with local schools and people in the medical profession.

Cavan County Council has called on the HSE to "urgently review" the supports it offers schools following incidents of death by suicide.

The motion, brought forth by Fianna Fáil councillors Aiden Fitzpatrick and Philip Brady, also calls on the Cavan County Board to provide a key speaker in suicide prevention to every local GAA club.

Councillor Fitzpatrick says the motion follows consultation with local schools and people in the medical profession.
