Outbreaks were detected between November and December 2021.

The IFA says local farmers impacted by bird flu outbreaks must be compensated.

Six outbreaks were detected in Irish poultry farms between November and December of 2021, and all within Cavan and Monaghan.

It's estimated that 200,000 birds were culled as a result.
