An investigation has been launched after a man impersonating a Garda cold-called an elderly couple in Bailieborough town.
The incident occurred in the Drumbannon area at around 10.30 on Wednesday morning.
The lone male claimed to be a member of the Detective Branch and asked if the couple had lost money.

Gardai say the man left empty handed as a passenger in the light blue coloured car.
In light of the incident, Gardai in Bailieborough are appealing for information and reminding people to be vigilant when cold-callers arrive at your door.
