Local LEADER companies are being allocated over 1.4 million euro in transitional funding.
The funding, which amounts to 20 milion euro for companies nationwide, will bridge a gap between the wind-up of the current programme and the start of the next EU programme, which is not likely to commence until 2023 due to delays at EU level.
Cavan is to receive an allocation worth over 770,000 euro (€774,753), over 690,000 euro is going to both Monaghan (€690,247).
Project approvals under the Transitional Programme will commence from 1st April 2021, however, Local Action Groups can work on identifying and animating potential projects from 1st January 2021.
Local political representatives have welcomed the funding announcment which was made by Cavan Monaghan TD and Minister Heather Humphreys.
