Two local women who have been making people aware of the signs and symptoms of Sepsis want to see a national campaign being rolled out across the country.
The North East Sepsis Awareness group is seeking a public awareness campaign on Sepsis on a national basis.
Cathriona Flanagan and Hannah Tormey brought their calls to Brussels in recent weeks alongside MEP Ciaran Mullooly.
The ladies are regularly out across the region with one goal to make people aware.
They encouraged people to know the symptoms; Slurred speech, new confusion drowsiness, extreme shivering, muscle aches, fever, not passing urine in 12 hours, shortness of breath, blue lips, heart racing, dizziness, feeling like you're going to die and skin mottled/ discoloured and a rash not blanching.
Speaking to Northern Sound today, both Hannah and Cathriona had this message for the Government.
When asked about a national roll out of a Sepsis campaign, The Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill had this to say.
