Local councillor praises those involved with Dunancory Bridge upgrades after its re-opening

The Dunancory Bridge in Virginia has re-opened following long-awaited upgrading works.

The upgrades included the widening of the bridge to better accommodate pedestrians and vehicles.

The works had been delayed due to what Cavan County Council said were "prevailing ground conditions and health and safety reasons".

While all diversions related to the works have been lifted, traffic crossing the bridge will be restricted to one lane during working hours next week to allow for the completion of works to the footpath.
