The average wait time for a driving test has dropped, however the number of no-shows is on the rise.
Data compiled by Parc Road Safety Group show waiting times for a driving test now average 9.7 weeks, down from highs of over 6 months in 2024.
The average wait time for a driving test in Co Monaghan is nine weeks, while the number of no-shows from January to May of this year was 15.
Elsewhere in the region, the average wait time for a driving test in Co Cavan is eight weeks.
There was 45 no-shows in Cavan from January to May of this year. There was also seven no-shows in Cavan during the month of June.
Nationally, rising numbers of people are failing to turn up on test day, with 699 no-shows recorded in June this year.
