A Co Cavan man is set to hit TV screens right across the country tonight. 27-year-old James Donohoe from Ballyhaise will feature on RTÉ2's 'First Dates' programme at 9.35pm. In the first double date of the series, the Cavan native is joined by his pal Stephen in a combined bid to impress 26-year-old Jade from Newry and 24-year-old Siobhan from Mayo.
James who works as an online presenter for 'Ooosch Giveaways' applied for the dating show a short time after seeing a post about it on Instagram. Speaking to Northern Sound, he said that he is "always encouraging" his friends to go on more dates and thought this would be a "perfect opportunity" to practice what he preaches and throw himself into a blind date situation.
"It was a cool experience," James told Northern Sound. "It's so long ago now that it's actually hard to fully remember it so I'm just as excited to watch the whole episode and see how it plays out on TV as much an anyone else. It was a fun experience and all the people working with RTE were so nice and helped us all throughout the whole process."
