A Monaghan mother and baby home survivor says more needs to be done to help those born in the institutions.
Yesterday, the government approved payments worth 800 million euro for 34 thousand former residents.
Those who lived in the institutions for less than a year can receive 12,500 euro - with 65 thousand for residents of more than 10 years.
Kathleen Tuite was born in the Castlepollard Mother and Baby Home, and grew up in Magheracloone in Monaghan after she was adopted at the age of three.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Kathleen said the redress is a welcomed, but is not enough on it's own.
