In an effort to boost recruitment numbers, Catholic Bishops have launched a new initiative that will run over a period of 12 months. While the number of people entering the priesthood remains at crisis point, this year long campaign will be focused on vocations to the diocesan priesthood and will run on the theme 'Take the risk for Christ'
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Fr Stephen Duffy who is a Muckno Parish Priest from Ballybay is "encouraging" more take ups of the vocation.
Fr Duffy is one of the most recent priests ordained in this region and is attached to the diocese of Clogher. He added that for those who are thinking of joining the priesthood, it's important to "listen to your heart and respond to what is happening."
