A local Senator has welcomed modular buildings being brought in to provide accommodation at Emyvale Garda Station.
It comes after it was confirmed to Northern Sound News that no timeframe for when a permanent solution for Emyvale Garda Station has been confirmed.
The building was badly damaged in a suspected arson attack in October 2019, and has yet to be reconstructed.
Last June it was confirmed that planning had started on getting new accommodation, after the demolition of the existing building.
Monaghan Councillors were critical of the delays and slow progress in getting works underway, with local Superintendent Pat O'Connell saying at a Joint Policing Meeting in November that negotiations with the Office of Public Works were ongoing.
He told members that one of two proposals would be finalised early in the new year.
In a statement this week to Northern Sound News, the OPW said proposals are being considered and no decision has been made at this time.
Meanwhile a Garda Spokesperson said the current Covid-19 restrictions have delayed the decision making, and that an updated timeframe for delivery "is not available at this time".
Fianna Fáil Senator Robbie Gallagher said the delays are disappointing, but the area is still being patrolled by local Gardai.
