The Union feels that the process has all been rushed, including yesterday's meeting with the Minister.

A local student representative says key stakeholders voices have been ignored in the arrangements around schools reopening.

Monaghan’s Adam Lambe is the Deputy President of the ISSU and says they feel the return to classes is rushed and should be postponed until Monday.

He says that the union are in favour of the phased reopening, which would allow more time for staff to assess their staffing levels and implement safety measures.

Adam says that while the funding announcement for Covid prevention measures is welcome the voices of key groups, like themselves, have been ignored by the Department:
