Students across Cavan and Monaghan reminded that results day 'will not' define them

Like many schools across the county, Principal McCague said a support service is provided for students throughout their years at school, which will not be removed immediately.

Over 1,700 students in Cavan and Monaghan have received their Leaving Cert results today.

The Self-Service Portal opened this morning at 10 o'clock, however many students from St Macartan's College in Monaghan opted to make the trip back to school today to talk to friends and teachers.

While a total of 794 students in Monaghan and 930 students in Cavan received results this morning, Principal of St Macartan's College, David McCague has reminded students from across the region that no matter what result, the Leaving Cert "will not define them."

He added that it's important for schools to encourage their students who don't get their desired points today to explore alternative options:
