A local TD has received confirmation that the Oriel Group Home in Carrickmacross has been included in the HSE Estimates process for 2021.
The funding required to operate this Group Home is not within the current budget allocation and Cavan/Monaghan TD Brendan Smith has renewed his appeal to the HSE to have the Centre opened as early as possible in the New Year as it will provide 5 residential placements to people with a physical and sensory disability.
The HSE has stated the Group Home required completion of remedial works which have been identified and costed and while they remain outstanding have been identified for consideration.
Deputy Smith has emphasised to his party colleague Anne Rabbitte the essential need to make financial provision in the forthcoming HSE 2021 Plan for the Group Home:
