Architect and television presenter Hugh Wallace has died suddenly at the age of 68.
His husband Martin shared the news on Instagram, saying he passed away at their home last night.
Glaslough's Peter Cariville paid tribute to the Home of the Year judge, describing him as a "true gent'."
The local man's property made it to the final of of RTE's Home of the Year in 2024.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr Carville descried the late Hugh Wallace as a "warm" and "kind" person who brought so much joy to the show and his experience at that time.
He said it was an "honour" to have met him and described his death as "extremely sad." Mr Carville told Northern Sound: "It could be quite stressful at times, there was a lot happening but Hugh was always so warm and smiled at everyone. He made us all feel welcome, happy and safe. He brought such joy to the show and it was an honour to have met him."
