Turkey farmers across Cavan and Monaghan could be scaling back flocks ahead of Christmas.
Farmers are reporting that the rising cost of production is making it unviable for them to operate at the same level as before.
Monaghan and Cavan has one of the highest densities of poultry farms in the country.
